June will see several opportunities for users to learn about hydraulic hose assembly designs, with upcoming Fluid Power Technology Conference (FPTC) and Fluid Power World webinar presentations.
On June 22 at 2 p.m., Robert Mackey, General Manager of Main Manufacturing Products Inc. will take the FPTC stage with his talk on “Specifying hydraulic flanges and how ‘stock specials’ can solve your piping problems.”
Throughout this presentation, Mackey will discuss what information is needed to specify hydraulic flanges and what common choices/options are readily available. He will highlight how they can they be used to make your hose/piping runs simpler, easier, and looking good.
Mackey has been a member of technical committees of ISO TC 131/SC4, generally attending the WG 2 meetings as the USA lead expert, and member of SAE FCCTC for over 35 years where he is the standard champion of the SAE J518 standard. He has worked for over 45 years in hydraulics and pneumatics for MAIN Manufacturing, Flanges Inc., Dwyer Instruments, and was a project engineer for Kraft Foods. He is a graduate of University of Michigan (BSME), and TCU (MBA).

Then, Josh Cosford returns for a Fluid Power World webinar on June 24 at 2 p.m., with his presentation on “Making Safe and Reliable Hydraulic Hose Assemblies.”
A hydraulic machine is nothing without a hydraulic hose. Hydraulic hoses are the critical arteries of a system, and without mindful construction of hose assemblies, you risk complete failure. This webinar covers the tactics to create a safe and reliable hydraulic hose assembly, from hose selection to crimping and everything in between.
Cosford is Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Higginson Equipment in Burlington, Ontario. He studied fluid power at Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario. He has more than 15-years of experience with fluid power systems, and has held the Certified Fluid Power Hydraulic Specialist designation from the Fluid Power Society since 2009. Cosford has been involved in the design and sales of hydraulic systems since 2006 and is the Director of Communications for the Canadian Fluid Power Association. He is a Fluid Power World reader favorite, contributing to our magazine, many websites and online and in person events regularly.
This presentation is sponsored by Texcel, Main Manufacturing, and Suburban Manufacturing.
