HyperSpiral hose fittings handle extreme pressures

November 6, 2019 By Ken Korane Leave a Comment

Vitillo, with headquarters in Ariano Irpino, Italy, makes a wide range of fluid connectors and conductors suited for low and high-pressure hydraulic applications. It includes spiral and braided hoses with metal and textile reinforcement, standard and interlock crimp fittings, adaptors, customized special fittings and bent/shaped rigid tubing. All the fittings and adapters are available with zinc chromium III plating, zinc-nickel plating, and in stainless steel.

A small sampling of Vitillo products were on display at ICUEE in Louisville.

The family of products includes ISO 12151 and SAE J516 hose fittings, and JIC, ORFS, DIN and BSP adaptors. Numerous different hoses are available to suit an extensive variety of operating demands, including high pressures, low or high temperature extremes, and reduced bending radius, as well as for applications that require ozone resistance, abrasion resistance and MSHA approval.

Among recent product introductions is the HyperSpiral no-skive hose fittings for spiral hoses. Sizes range from 0.38 to 1.25 in. with working pressures to 6,000 psi (420 bar). Reported advantages that the fitting provide include avoiding premature hose failure causes by improper skiving, preventing steel-wire reinforcement corrosion and speeding up assembly and increasing productivity. U.S. offices for Vitillo are in Gloucester, Mass.
