The new EO-3® tube fitting system from Parker Hannifin Corporation, global in motion and control technologies, utilizes new thread technology and a unique marking system to decrease installation time and cut down on tube system leaks due to improper installation.
In contrast to Parker EO and EO-2 DIN standard fittings, the EO-3 system is based on a 24-degree inner cone with an integrated soft seal and cone-shaped connecting thread that improves sealing compatibility. In addition, when a yellow signal ring is aligned, the installer can immediately see that the fitting has been installed correctly.
Because of these features, EO-3 fittings can be installed considerably more quickly than conventional fitting systems. The EO-3 installation does not require a torque wrench or a wrench extension. For ease of installation in tight construction spaces, EO-3 fittings use an octagonal screw nut in tube sizes 25 mm and up instead of a standard hexagonal screw nut.
The new EO-3 system is being demonstrated in the Parker exhibit at IFPE 2014, booth S-80440.
EO-3 fittings meet the demands of applications that require both flexible hose connections and rigid tube work. They can link to existing EO-2 connections using an adapter, meaning that old fittings can be converted or upgraded at little additional cost.
The EO-3 fitting system can be used in applications such as:
- Rigid tube connections and hose applications
- All external tube diameters from six to 42 millimeters
- Temperatures from -40°F to +248°F (-40° to +120°C)
