Air-Way Manufacturing recently received the 2014 John Deere Supplier Diversity award. John Deere bestows two awards annually to honor a small, women-owned, or minority-owned business in its supply base. Nominated suppliers are evaluated for excellence in information sharing, problem resolution, responsiveness to requests and business relationship. John Deere created the supplier diversity awards in 2011 to recognize exceptional small and diverse businesses.
The company is based in Olivet, Mich., with three Michigan plants and locations in Indiana, Ohio, Canada and China. Air-Way supplies custom and standard hydraulic fittings and adapters to John Deere, along with other OEMs and distributors worldwide. Air-Way representatives, Bill Blank (president, Finance and Marketing) and John Hamm (president, Manufacturing and Engineering), accepted the recognition during the formal John Deere Achieving Excellence Banquet ceremonies held on March 3, 2015 in Iowa.
“Working with OEMs like John Deere has allowed us to continue to enhance our products, offerings and services. Recognition like this Supplier Diversity Award is something we are very proud of because it is based on key customer criteria like collaboration, communication and the business relationship. This is how we approach all of our customers, and it speaks highly of our professional and dedicated employee team members,” said Blank.
“This award is confirmation that John Deere values all of the hard work and collaborative efforts of the Air-Way team. We have earned the respect of our valued customer, and will continue to do so as we work together to refine old and create new methods,” Hamm added.
