The HTE Series Equalizer quick couplings from Dixon, Dallas, N.C., are designed for hydraulic circuits in any application where trapped pressure can be an issue.
The design permits connections with residual pressure in the nipple of up to 5,000 psi. They are used in conjunction with Dixon HT series and other ISO 16028 couplers. They provide smooth connection action up to full working pressure. And the compact HTE couplings are resistant to system contamination.
The products are machined of RoHS-compliant zinc nickel plated steel. Rings and pins are stainless steel, and standard seals are nitrile or polyurethane. Dust caps are also nitrile.
They come in sizes from 0.38 to 1.0 in. Pressure range of the 0.5-in. body size, for example, is 5,000 psi working and 20,000 psi burst for the connected HT coupler and HTE plug; with the same specs for the uncoupled HTE plug. Rated fluid loss is 0.010 cc and flow at ΔP of 14.5 psi is 15.0 gpm.
The 0.38, 0.5 and 0.75 in. sizes have an operating temperature of -65° to 212° F (-54° to 100° C); the range for 0.62 and 1.0 in. sizes is -40° to 250° F (-40° to 121° C).
They are available with NPTF, O-ring boss and BSPP threads and are interchangeable with Parker FEC Series, Stucchi APM Series and Faster 3FFH Series.
According to company officials, the HTE units are ideal for hydraulic applications where connecting against residual pressure is required. They are largely used in the construction equipment market.
