Danfoss Power Solutions announced Tuesday that it will acquire Hydro Holding Spa, a manufacturer of hose fittings headquartered in Castello d’Argile, Italy.
Hydro Holding will become part of Danfoss Power Solutions’ Fluid Conveyance division, led by Domenico Traverso. The acquisition supports the division’s strategic focus to accelerate profitable growth in line with Danfoss’ LEAP 2030 strategy. Hydro Holding will strengthen Danfoss’ hose fittings portfolio and enable the company to become a bigger player in Europe.

Domenico Traverso, President, Fluid Conveyance, Danfoss Power Solutions, told Fluid Power World that this move will give Danfoss a fittings footprint in Europe. “Danfoss has a very strong hose business in Europe, but fittings are currently sourced mainly from the U.S. and China,” he said. “Hydro Holding immediately gives us a competitive, local fittings production base in Italy and the Czech Republic, with a large installed product portfolio and fast delivery. Combined with our hose plant in Çerkezköy, we will now have a complete European hose-and-fittings footprint.”
He added that the Hydro Holding acquisition gives Danfoss a regional manufacturing hub for Europe, while the Danfoss facilities will strengthen its manufacturing base in the Americas. “This acquisition allows us to shorten supply chains, reduce logistics costs, improve service levels, and support OEMs and distributors with local production and fast lead times in each region,” Traverso said.
Hydro Holding offers a range of high-quality products, including carbon and stainless steel fittings and adapters, hose assemblies, and formed steel tubing. Its products are used in the material handling, oil and gas, agriculture, marine, construction, mining, and chemical sectors. The company has a strong presence in Europe with four locations in Italy, one in the Czech Republic, and a sales office in the UK. Its annual turnover is EUR 60 million, and it has a highly experienced and knowledgeable team of 350 employees. Hydro Holding is the result of a buildup strategy that started in 2015 with the acquisition of two leading independent Italian hose fittings producers, Tieffe and FB Hydraulic, and continued in 2017 with the integration of Raccorfer, a cold forming steel producer, and MCS Hydraulics, a manufacturer of stainless steel fittings.

Traverso noted that Hydro Holding brings a broad and highly competitive portfolio of carbon steel and stainless-steel fittings, adapters, and hose assemblies. The range complements and expands Danfoss’ current offering, giving customers more depth in SKUs, materials, and configurations, especially for distributors and industrial OEMs in Europe.
At closing, nothing changes for both companies, Traverso said. “Hydro Holding will continue to operate as it does today. After closing, we will evaluate branding options based on customer needs and market strengths,” he said. “Our priority is continuity for customers and distributors, and any brand changes will be communicated clearly and well in advance.”
“Bringing Hydro Holding into the Danfoss Fluid Conveyance business is a perfect fit for both organizations. We will create a hose and fitting powerhouse in Europe, and together, we will be able to realize synergies, expand market share, and meet the needs of our customers with innovative solutions and a broader product range,” said Daniel Winter, President, Danfoss Power Solutions.
“Joining Danfoss Power Solutions marks an important milestone for Hydro Holding and for our entire team. We share the same values of customer focus, quality, and innovation, and I am confident that together we will strengthen our presence in the European market. Our fittings portfolio perfectly complements Danfoss’ hoses offering, creating strong commercial and manufacturing synergies that will enable us to deliver even greater value to our customers,“ said Stefano Bordegnoni, CEO, Hydro Holding.
Danfoss Power Solutions’ Fluid Conveyance division manufactures hoses and fittings for a variety of equipment and applications, including vehicles, aircraft, mining, food and beverage, and mobile and industrial equipment. Product ranges include hydraulic hose and fittings, engine and air conditioning hose and fittings, industrial hose and fittings, thermoplastic hose and fittings, connectors and quick-disconnect couplings, and hose machines, tools, and accessories. Its products are manufactured under the brand names Aeroquip, Weatherhead, Winner, Boston, Synflex, and SEL. The Fluid Conveyance division’s annual sales reached EUR 1.2 billion in 2024, and it has approximately 5,300 employees.
“Fluid Conveyance is a strategic growth engine for Danfoss Power Solutions and one of the fastest-growing divisions in the Danfoss Group. With our world-class hydraulic connectors, our leadership in liquid cooling for data centers, our traditional mobile and off-highway customers, and the strength of our iconic Aeroquip brand, we are well positioned to achieve significant growth,” Traverso concluded. “With Hydro Holding, we strengthen our European base, expand our product offering, and improve regional service. This positions us to gain market share and accelerate long-term growth — in Europe and globally.”
The acquisition is expected to be fully completed by the end of the year.
